Lake Buchanan – This was built by the construction of Buchanan Dam by the Lower Colorado River Authority. It is spread over 5 miles in width and 30 miles in length with a shoreline of 124 miles. You can go cruising on Lake Buchanan and explore the scenic wilderness or can travel to the oldest winery in Texas Hill Country, Fall Creek Winery. There are also three beautiful parks on the lake which are definitely worth visiting including Cedar Point Recreational Area, Black Rock Park and Canyon of the Eagles.

- Inks Lake – Situated just right next to Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake is truly a beautiful lake situated around lush green surroundings. A new four lane bridge has been built over Inks Lake. The old bridge is now only used for walking purposes where you can enjoy the scenic beauty or can have a romantic moonlight walk with your partner. You can also have delicious catfish dinners at a restaurant built on a floating barge known as “The Catfish Barge”.
- Lake LBJ – This lovely lake starts from Austin and flows northwest towards Kingsland. This lake is named in honor of the U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson. Due to the constant water level throughout the year Lake LBJ is an ideal lake for sailing, boating, water-skiing, jet-skiing and other water sports activities.
- Lake Marble Falls – Drive 45 miles northwest of Austin and you will reach Lake Marble Falls located at the vibrant town of Marble Falls. The lake is famous for hosting annual Cigarette Boat Race. It is also a great place for all the shopaholics with variety of great shops including antique shops, gift shops, a Wal Mart Super Center, a large grocery store and fine great fast food restaurants.
- Lake Travis – Lake Travis is surrounded around four communities. Golfing community is located on the south side of Lake Travis. Lago Vista and Jonestown are located on the northwest side of the lake. On the northwest side is Briarcliff community.
- Lake Austin – This lovely lake is the sixth Highland Lake of Central Texas. Starting from the Mansfield Dam and ending at the Tom Miller Dam, Lake Austin is a great place to spend vacations.
